70 Years of Impact and the Future Ahead

"Our students are not only learners; they are partners in shaping Israel’s future"

Dr. Anita Friedman

Chair of the TAU Global Campaign, Vice Chairperson of the Board of Governors

As Tel Aviv University marks 70 years and Israel enters a new chapter of renewal, we look forward with optimism and resolve. At this truly historic moment, TAU is uniquely positioned to help lead the nation—and is called upon to do so.

In a world reshaped by political turmoil and rapid technological change, leadership is not a luxury for the State of Israel—it is essential. For seven decades, TAU researchers and alumni have helped define Israel’s growth and innovation story—from military defense such as Iron Dome, to tech such Mobileye, Wix, or Waze, to lifesaving medical breakthroughs and more.

Today, we also rank among the world’s top universities for producing startup founders and unicorn companies—a testament to the entrepreneurial spirit embedded in our DNA.

Our strength lies in our deep dedication to our mission and in collaboration. Across disciplines, our scholars lead the way and turn big ideas into real-world impact. TAU is pioneering scientific and medical breakthroughs, uncovering hidden history, protecting digital privacy, strengthening community and advancing new technologies that improve lives and societies forever.

Just as important is our commitment to our students and to strengthening the fabric of Israeli society. Especially in these difficult times, we support learners facing reserve military duty, family responsibilities, financial strain, and personal trauma—ensuring that talent and determination are never sidelined by circumstance.

Our campus is a welcoming place where diverse voices meet, future leaders grow, and community is strengthened.

In the face of unimaginable global antisemitism as well as challenges to academic freedom, Tel Aviv University has demonstrated that it proudly leads the way and stands firm—advancing knowledge, defending truth, and serving our community and all of humanity.

You make it possible for TAU to achieve its goals and thrive. Your partnership with TAU secures the future financial viability of the University, strengthens the State of Israel and empowers our relationship as a valued member of the entire global community.

Together, we honor 70 extraordinary years—not only by celebrating the past, but by re-dedicating ourselves to building what comes next.

We remain grateful for your involvement, generosity and shared devotion to our common cause.

Priority Projects

Faculty Recruitment

The ongoing war and global rise in antisemitism underscore the need to strengthen Israel as a safe haven for the Jewish people. The Faculty Recruitment Fund will help attract world-class researchers to ensure Israel’s technological and scientific leadership, combat brain drain, and maintain its global competitive edge. To do so, TAU requires attractive recruitment packages for lab renovations, equipment, fellowships, and start-up costs.

Student Success Center

To properly nurture and strengthen Israel's future innovators and researchers, TAU's newly expanded Student Success Center requires significant funding to support its broad mandate and growing student needs. Funds will be used to launch a special projects fund, reinforce career development services, expand the Center’s physical space, and establish a permanent endowment to ensure long-term sustainability.

The National Center for Traumatic Stress and Resilience

The National Center for Traumatic Stress and Resilience will expand Tel Aviv University’s leadership in mental health research and establish a global epicenter for the study and treatment of trauma. The Center will unite leading researchers, clinicians, health systems, and government partners, providing advanced research and clinical facilities to develop, test, and implement evidence-based interventions for PTSD and related conditions. By accelerating discovery and translating research into practice, the Center will set the global standard for trauma care, strengthen resilience worldwide, and improve lives for generations to come.

The AI and Data Science Center

The AI and Data Science Center will strengthen Tel Aviv University’s leadership in artificial intelligence while advancing Israel’s national AI priorities. This multidisciplinary center integrates core AI research with applied innovation, working closely with industry, healthcare systems, and the defense establishment to translate algorithms and data science into real-world solutions. By advancing AI across domains such as healthcare, smart cities, security, and economics, the Center will drive technological leadership and broad societal impact.

The Quantum Center

The Center for Quantum Science and Technology will expand and accelerate Tel Aviv University’s contribution to the rapidly evolving field of quantum science. Bringing together physicists, engineers, and computer scientists, the Center will advance fundamental knowledge while developing next-generation quantum technologies and applications. By strengthening Israel’s quantum research ecosystem, the Center will help shape breakthroughs with far-reaching scientific and technological impact.

School of Environment

TAU is boosting the field of Environment & Sustainability and tackling urgent climate change challenges. The vision is to elevate, coordinate, and dramatically enhance the research and teaching activities in units across campus, and serve as a dynamic research hub for state-of-the-art, creative and viable solutions that contribute to policymaking and foster sustainability in Israel and globally.
